"Johansen (Message from Boo) goes for the jugular in this not-for-the-faint-of-heart mystery brimming with suspense, shocks, and supernatural evil as it follows a teenage girl in the 1960s on her hunt for the killer ravaging her small town.
The supernatural elements lurking behind the town's troubles emerge gradually, but once Johansen introduces them through the locals' superstitious beliefs, the story quickly comes to ahead, alongside a dramatic ending that's equal parts hair-raising and proudly, can-you-top-this? excessive." {READ FULL REVIEW}

Do you think you can be scared to death? Detective John Williams with the Atlanta Homicide Department was a nonbeliever until his logical explanations gave way to something unfounded, to something unnatural and sinister. He has been charged with solving a series of murders in Georgia’s capital city that will take him on a frightening journey that can only be described as a roller coaster nightmare. The twists and turns in his investigation are made even more complicated by his responsibilities as a single parent to his young daughter, Boo. And when you add a transferred, know-it-all partner straight out of the New York City Police Department to the mix, it makes matters even more confrontational and unnerving.
The spine-chilling drama that unfolds and the sequence of events that take place will leave John questioning his sanity. His pursuit of the mysterious killer will also leave him confused and guessing what will happen next. Do good and evil forces really exist? That’s the question his pragmatic mind will have to come to grips with and answer. So, hang on for the ride of your life in what can be described in three succinct words – scariest story ever!

ABOUT
Reymond George Johansen was born in 1951 to John Thomas and Mary Ruth. He was the second of four siblings who grew up in humble conditions in Alabama. He wrote at one time that “all our life stories begin at home.” It was there that he learned about the value of hard work, education, and the importance of never losing your faith, from his parents. His first novel, Message from Boo, is appropriately dedicated in memory to John and Mary.
As a boy, R.G. was a dreamer with a vivid imagination. He often found himself more at home in his own mind—conjuring up another battle against an evil foe. His mother and father’s sermons about the importance of completing his education replaced his imagination’s harrowing exploits with real life English and history classes. Unable to escape his parent’s words, he was driven to finish his undergraduate degree by taking night classes while working a full-time job to help pay the tuition.
After graduation, R.G. began a forty-year career in the financial services industry—a path that would eventually lead him to Atlanta, Georgia, the scene of his first novel. His time in Atlanta as a senior executive profoundly influenced his fascination with the diversity, culture, and mysteries of the American South. He continued that love in his second novel, Something Sinister Within, set in the Appalachian foothills outside of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Today, R.G. has retired to his farm, where he resides with his wife, Ellen, and their dog, Toby. Residing nearby are his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren who are a source of love and support that he cherishes every day.
